Event Resources
Event resources below are displayed in a pdf-display block in Edge Delivery, discussed at the meetup. This block takes PDFs in an AEM as a Cloud Service DAM and displays them along with thumbnails generated by AEM for each PDF, along with the AEM Assets title, description and file size.
There are other ways to be able to accomplish this same goal. This way is quick and updates rapidly, with minimal technical overhead. The elements needed to make this work are:
- A servlet on the AEM Publish environment (with appropriate dispatcher configurations), to expose the appropriate JSON out of the Publisher for the Asset
- Rules on the Adobe CDN to pass calls to your servlet path through to AEM instead of to Edge Delivery. This does mean that the
pdf-displayblock will only work when viewed through the CDN - A block to pick up and render the JSON in a way that works for you.
