First Look: Adobe Experience Workspace

Adobe has announced Experience Workspace, and we're here to give you an overview of what Experience Workspace is and how you might be able to use it in your AEM environment.

If you're familiar with DA, Workspace is basically DA.live 2.0. For a refresher, check out our overview of DA here.

What Is Experience Workspace?

So what is Experience Workspace? It's a mouthful, and that mouthful is an Edge Delivery-centric, agentic CMS. It's DA with the addition of in-context editing and a conversational AI tool.

In plain terms: everything you already do in DA, plus an editor that lets you work right on the rendered page, and a built-in AI assistant you can talk to instead of clicking through menus.

Enabling Experience Workspace

To enable Experience Workspace in your EDS environment, follow the overview from Adobe here and turn on New Authoring:

In-Context Editing

In-context editing is the core editing experience in Adobe Experience Workspace's Layout mode. You can see the page rendered the way a visitor would see it, rather than looking at raw document structure. When you click on an editable element, it gets a blue border and becomes editable right there on the page, with your changes appearing in place and in real time as you type.

This editing is quick and easy, whether you're an experienced content author or someone less familiar with what could be a complicated block structure.

The AI Chat Harness

Besides the new in-context editor, Experience Workspace also gives you an AI Chat Harness that you can use to make changes, updates, edits, or ask questions about your CMS via a conversational agent that we've all become accustomed to.

Right now, this AI experience is basic, but soon it will be replaced with the more impressive Adobe CX Enterprise Experience Co-Worker. This will become a portal to all of your Adobe Enterprise systems, taking the capabilities far beyond content.

What's Next

We're excited for the new capabilities, as it's sure to streamline the page authoring and creation process for anyone enabled to use it.

See Tad talk about it while riding his bike through the forest on his new terrain in Florida: “Adobe Experience Workspace, AEM Meetups in DC & Munich, upcoming adaptTo() Conference & Bike Ride!!”
