Adobe Summit Highlights & Announcements

The First Annual Arbory Digital Pre-Summit Bike Ride!

Before Adobe Summit, Adobe Experience Manager professionals from 4 different companies took an energizing bike excursion out to Hoover Dam, one of the most ambitious engineering projects ever undertaken by man. It was an amazing experience and opportunity for all concerned to have great conversation, take in the sights, get some air into the lungs and prepare for the week ahead! Thanks to all who came on for the ride!

We were nearly-continuously accosted throughout the rest of Adobe Summit by folks who missed the ride and wished they could have gone, so rest assured: we will most certainly be doing the ride again next year!

The Rise of Agentic AI

One of the most prominent themes at Adobe Summit 2025 was the introduction of agentic AI. This concept builds upon the previous year's focus on generative AI, which has become somewhat commonplace.

Agentic AI, however, represents a new frontier where AI systems can interact with one another, creating a network of agents that can perform complex tasks autonomously. This shift is expected to revolutionize various industries by automating processes that previously required human intervention, with new agentic AI products such as Adobe's Brand Concierge.

Importance of Data Accuracy

A recurring point throughout the sessions was the critical role of data accuracy and metadata. For AI tools to function effectively, they require high-quality data inputs. Poor data quality can lead to suboptimal outputs, which can negatively impact brand reputation and marketing effectiveness.

Companies with legacy systems or inadequate data management practices may struggle to leverage the full potential of these new AI tools.

Tools for Site Optimization

Adobe introduced several tools aimed at enhancing site performance and user experience.

One notable tool is the Site Optimizer, which continuously scans websites for issues such as broken links, load times, and SEO impacts. This tool can suggest fixes and even implement changes, significantly reducing the manual effort required for site maintenance.

Experience Catalyst

Another exciting innovation is the Experience Catalyst, designed to streamline the process of migrating content to edge delivery systems. This tool automates many of the tedious tasks associated with content migration, allowing developers to focus on more strategic initiatives rather than manual coding.

What About AEM On-Premise & AEM 6.6?

AEM 6.5 LTS (aka AEM 6.6) was released to General Availability just over a week before Adobe Summit.  While at Adobe Summit, we talked to dozens of AEM customers and implementers who still supported AEM on-premise, AMS and self-hosted implementations who are not going to immediately go to the cloud and DEFINITELY wanted to hear more about AEM 6.6.

However (curiously) AEM 6.6 / 6.5 LTS was not mentioned even once in ANY of the presentations.  The theme was clearly "cloud" and "agentic AI" but Adobe very much is still supporting on-premise solutions.  We discussed this on our podcast, and would LOVE to discuss more with anyone who's got on-premise gear still to support.

The Changing Landscape of SEO and Marketing

Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)

As the landscape of search engines evolves, so does the role of SEO. The concept of Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) is emerging, where the focus shifts from traditional SEO practices to optimizing content for AI-driven search results. This change necessitates a reevaluation of how marketers approach content creation and distribution, as AI-generated snippets may dominate search results, impacting traffic to company websites.

The Role of AI in Marketing Campaigns

Adobe's Project Mystique was highlighted as a groundbreaking initiative that allows marketers to generate entire campaigns from a simple content brief.

This tool leverages AI to create tailored marketing experiences, enabling companies to respond quickly to market demands and consumer preferences.

Conclusion: Embracing the Future of Digital Marketing

Adobe Summit 2025 has set the stage for a transformative year in digital marketing. The advancements in agentic AI, combined with the emphasis on data accuracy and integration, present both challenges and opportunities for businesses. As companies navigate this new landscape, those that embrace these innovations and adapt their strategies accordingly will likely lead the way in delivering exceptional customer experiences.

In summary, the key takeaways from Adobe Summit 2025 highlight the importance of leveraging AI tools effectively, ensuring data integrity, and staying ahead of the evolving marketing landscape. As we move forward, the integration of these technologies will be crucial for success in the digital age.
