JMP + Arbory Digital: World's First Customer Site Launched with Document Authoring Technology from Adobe

Creating a Groundbreaking New AEM Site for JMP Statistical Discovery
JMP Statistical Discovery brings clear and invaluable insights to seas of data, allowing scientists and engineers to quickly visualize, analyze, and share those insights. JMP's professional statistical analysis software is used by the 10 largest chemical companies, the 10 largest pharmaceutical companies, and the 10 largest semiconductor companies in the world. It is a critical tool in shaping how everyday products are envisioned, created, manufactured, and optimized.
JMP partnered with Arbory Digital and Adobe to migrate and modernize its website by leveraging the power of AEM Edge Delivery Services and Document Authoring.
Finding the Right Partner
Growing from a product line of SAS Institute, JMP found itself at a crossroads. JMP needed to create a new web presence of its own, outside of the SAS managed datacenter. JMP partnered with Arbory Digital to create a self-supporting technical stack leveraging its pre-existing AEM 6.5 content structure. Arbory Digital helped JMP navigate the challenges of moving its site onto new infrastructure and trained its team so they could service and control the resulting implementation.
“The energy and the feedback that we got from Arbory Digital – it was such a different experience than dealing with some of the other houses that we were talking to. The reason that we went with you is because it felt like you guys were really listening to us and were committed to finding the right solution for our needs.”

The Power of Edge Delivery Services and Document Authoring
Potential implementation partners led with a "classic" AEM as a Cloud Service migration, which JMP's team believed to be too "cookie-cutter." This typical solution would demand an increased team size, while not providing sufficient benefit in the long run.
Arbory Digital’s unique insight into JMP’s needs, and its industry-leading knowledge of cutting-edge AEM development, allowed Arbory to find a solution that met JMP’s technical requirements at a price they could afford: a bespoke solution comprised of AEM as a Cloud Service, and the world’s first public implementation of Adobe's new Document Authoring technology for Edge Delivery Services, a lightning-fast content authoring and web delivery solution that allows companies to create exceptionally performant digital experiences that drive engagement and conversions.
Using its relationship with Adobe Engineering, Arbory Digital got JMP access to Adobe’s cutting-edge Document Authoring technology as VIP customer. This let JMP’s team benefit from intuitive document-authoring development without losing access to the core AEM features they had come to rely on, such as powerful translation and rollout features, as well as integration with AEM Assets.
Fast, Agile, and Did We Mention FAST ?
New Site vs. Legacy AEM 6.5 Site
After going live on Edge Delivery Services in February 2025, jmp.com has seen dramatic speed improvements in development, authoring, and the end-user experience.
Across a sampling of critical pages, the new site initial page load time is as much as 8x faster, with key content coming in nearly 14x faster than the same content hosted on its legacy AEM 6.5 site.
The user experience backs the numbers up, with end-users and business users alike raving about how quickly pages on the site load, and how much the user experience has improved as a result. The new site is one of the first to use Adobe's new Managed CDN infrastructure, which brings these performance gains to users around the globe, with all geographies enjoying a sleek and responsive experience on jmp.com.
A key target Arbory Digital had when creating the new JMP web platform was to create what previously would have been paradoxical: significantly faster feature velocity with a smaller, tighter development team. Thanks to Arbory Digital's involvement, JMP was able to have its cake and eat it too: feature development has become three times faster compared to the previous AEM 6.5 site. From onboarding to testing, developers at JMP are loving the new experience:
"I love how fast the development process is with Edge Delivery Services. For one, there are far fewer technologies you need to know to get started. Also, my local environment spins up so much faster than traditional AEM, and I am able to make and test changes quickly without needing to build to multiple environments. With GitHub branching and the content preview layer, you are able to test against real pages without impacting the live site and without the headache of maintaining an in-sync stage environment. Once tested, my changes can be deployed to production and be live on the site in a matter of seconds. From start to finish, the dev process is so much smoother."

Groundbreaking New Architecture & Tools
The new JMP web platform is the global-first customer implementation of Adobe's new Document Authoring technology for Edge Delivery Services. Document Authoring (DA) is a blazing-fast, Edge Delivery Services-native, integrated solution for managing, editing, and publishing sites based on Edge Delivery Services. It includes direct integration with AEM Assets, built-in live preview for mobile/desktop/tablet, built-in versioning, and robust translation capabilities for localizing websites, all while being one of the fastest content management systems on the planet.
JMP publishes all its materials in nine languages, so a core requirement was to have the CMS be able to easily handle central management of translations and page rollout. While traditional AEM excelled in this feature set, it can be a challenge for other document-based authoring systems. In partnership with Adobe, a translation framework was implemented to enable fast, seamless translation of content, as well as control for rollout and local edits.
JMP also leverages its AEM DAM for storing and serving PDF documentation for its various software versions in all the different languages it supports. With an integrated solution between AEM Assets as a Cloud Service and Edge Delivery, JMP was able to continue leveraging the power of AEM Assets alongside the delivery speed of Edge Delivery Services for a smooth and snappy user experience.
